Rahane bags ton in drawn encounter

India A's strong riposte with the bat continued on the final day as Ajinkya Rahane led the way with an unbeaten 101.

The game that ended in a draw saw all of India A's top five crossing the 50-run mark. While Shubman Gill, Hanuma Vihari and Cheteshwar Pujara went past the milestone on the third day, it was the turn of Vijay Shankar to join the party on the final day.

While Pujara and Gill could not add much to their overnight scores, India A's dominance continued with a 120-run stand between Rahane and Shankar.

The former got to his ton in the final session before both teams shook hands to call it a day.

Brief Scores: New Zealand A 386/9 decl. (Daryl Mitchell 103*, Glenn Phillips 65; Sandeep Warrier 2-50, Mohammed Siraj 2-75) drew with India A 467/5 (Shubman Gill 136, Ajinkya Rahane 101, Vijay Shankar 66).
